No matter what level of HP motivates it, the LMP360 is going to spend the rest of it's life as a track car.
Fire inside of a race car is universally Bad.
Has GRM done an Article on onboard fire systems? I seem to remember one but a quick search returned the Null set.
I don't think I need/want top of the line automatic actuation and all that (or maybe I do.. convince me). I think I'm looking at a manual actuated system.
I have a Summit Racing Gift card and want to support those that support the $2000 Challenge so they are my preferred vendor.

This seems like it is what I "need" but is there something more I want? 5 nozzles and 2 handles seems sufficient (1 fuel cell, 1 engine bay, 3 passenger compartment or some such)
What is the deal with certification of these systems?
Again if there is an article let me know. If there isn't.. Tom/JG you know what to do.
The good news is we've played with fire impression systems before. Here's what I was able to find:
This one is more about choosing an extinguisher for your classic, but I figured it was worth including:
Colin is substantially beter at searching then me.
Based on the 350Z article it looks like it is probably worth upgrading to the Novec equiped systems.
In reply to nocones :
Glad I could help. Let me ping some other peeps at the office and they should be able to provide more info.
Plus we have a how-to install magazine article in the works as we recently installed a Lifelife system in the Mustang. (Spoiler alert.)
Colin's links will probably be the most helpful resource, but yeah: You want a fire system, and you want the best one you can package/afford.
I'm glad to hear that you're installing a fire suppression system before converting the LMP360 into a full time track rig. I tip my hat to you.
In reply to Captdownshift (Forum Supporter) :
It's going to be an interesting evolution. I think I will continue to track budget just for fun. The Base car is and will always be a $2000 car. But it's going to need some mods to become fully Time Attack Legal and safe. I think continuing to use creativity where possible and focus on value for money where not is a compelling story to continue to tell.

This is the video that sold me on an automatic system for the Zonda:

Since you are buying a brand new one spend the coin for an automatic...............there's no reason not to.
I recently had to do a fire system install, and for better or worse, ended up with a Lifeline Zero 360 system (iirc). Novec so its not messy, and electric activation so I could add buttons as needed. I feel more comfortable knowing there's a good chance someone can reach a button even if the car is against a wall or something. As opposed to many systems I see at the track with only a drivers side handle.
I didn't get the automatic version, but will soon be installing some Protectowire that will essentially make it an automatic system. https://www.bimmerworld.com/Safety-Race-Interior/Fire-Safety/Lifeline-Protectowire-Heat-Detection-Cable.html
I also got one of those Element extinguishers, in case I stall and set the grass on fire.
