Really? Damn. I was going to sell my "portable" MM175 and my MM210 and replace them both with an MM211DVI so I can use the 110v service at the track so I can leave my 230v generator back at home...

I may do it anyway. At least it'll free up some space in my garage. It's tough finding room for 2 Mig's and a Tig in my little space!

I'll agree with what almost everyone else has said here. Good helmet, good wire and a clean surface will make the learning process go MUCH quicker.

maybe a good 20A or 30A circuit would help--I have been dorking around on a 15A

I'm thinking about buying a used unit off Craigslist. I've seen plenty that are name brand with a cart, gas, mask, etc. for reasonable prices. I've used a friend's 220V unit but I'll have to go with 110V as I have no outlet. Mostly for small repairs and the occasional exhaust work.
