I'm gifting "Old nasty" (My 91 integra with 400k miles) to a buddy in FL. His kid is turning 16 soon, and since I couldn't get a grand for it, I figured I'd rather literally GIVE her away.

Anyway, I can't find the damned title. IIRC, anything over (20? 25?) years old in GA just needs a bill of sale. Not sure what the rules are in FL.

I'm sure the title is in the house SOMEWHERE, but I'd rather not spend a day looking if it's not critical.

Little help?

If you can provide a bill of sale and a GA registration (I think current) they will title it in FL.

Yes to some version of what Stampie said. There was a title wash company that used Georgia's no title on old cars rule in that way for a while. Broadway title company or something like that.

I wish it was that easy in Texas. I've been considering posting a title thread myself as it looks like I might end up scrapping my wagon over title problems.

If the title is clear and in your name and you just can't find the actual paper, here's the procedure for getting a replacement. http://fdhsmv.rapidinsites.com/answer/duplicatereplacement-title

Edit: I thought you were in Florida, here's the procedure for Georgia. https://dor.georgia.gov/replace-lost-or-stolen-title

No, OK registered. I have the title, but it's filled in incorrectly. (Seller's name in both fields) Local "DMV" says I'm screwed since owners are deceased and I have no contact info for executors.

Yea your screwed unless TX has a bonded title process.

I have done this and there is a form Florida now has for this. You will need an expanded bill of sale that has the engine # on it and a notarized statement from you saying to the best of your knowledge nothing is stolen and there is no lien.

You are incorrect about the rule in GA. It's not 25 years. It's pre-1985.

So, your car is eligible for a title. Just go to the DMV and get another one.

You'll need to log in to post.
