I just had to chuckle.
"He doesn't even say what engine is in it!"
And neither do 99% of the other CL posters....stupid/annoying, isn't it?
BTW, in my experience, the engine usually does make a vehicle go fast. Except in those rare situations when the paint job somehow makes a car faster.
And you just know if you were to email the guy and ask him what engine it is, he'd just respond with "it's a V8".
My guess is it's a 400M, maybe a 460.

I'm calling you out as a NOOB, experts know STICKERS affect a vehicles ability to go faster while a paint job does nothing for a car except add weight and make it pretty, duh

I've always called those side pipes (popular in the 70s). Lake pipes were popular in the 50s. Like those above:
As turns out, yes, the truck is fast because of the engine in it. I have $100 that says it will beat all those engineless trucks down the dragstrip
Nope, side pipes. Lakes pipe are dummy pipes with a block off like PS122 posted. I used to see them on the low riders back in the 70's in SoCal also. Fast? Most likely 460. 400M in 79? OK. Dad had one a few years older with a 390 in it. Not easy to change that #8 plug w/AC.

Here is a photo of my old truck, as you can see it had really, really groovy stickers so it was much faster...
I thought the accepted theory was that the color RED painted on the most humble car (like a Chevy Cavalier) will somehow make that particular Cavalier faster than other non-red Cavaliers and as fast or faster than a non-red Corvette.

No, no, no. Red just makes you faster. Not faster than a specific car, just faster, period. Seriously. Look it up (people who play 40K know what I'm talking about).
