Just saw that McLaren is getting a re-do of the Norris penalty in Austin. 2:30 Mexico City time.
Apparently McLaren has evidence that wasn't available last Sunday for the ruling.
Honestly, I would give Max 5 seconds for forcing a car off, and then increase Lando to 10 for passing so blatantly off track and not looking back. Then nothing would change other than people seeing that Max did something wrong.
I wonder if Franco having a contract as a test role with Williams is scaring away Vcar and/or Sauber, as Williams is likely to what some compensation to release him. Assuming his performance is consistent for the rest of the year I would feel bad for him if he doesn't land a ride somewhere, I am sure he doesn't want to be the next Felipe Drugovich.
Just started watching FP1,Max must've been reading some of the opinions this week as he seems plenty annoyed and sees no reason to change the overtaking rules lol.

I read somewhere that that is what the FIA did. That is why Lando only got the 5sec. If so they should have made that clear as you said. Don't know if that is true or not. Saw a video with Coulthard and Eddie Jordan and they said that that is how champions race and Lando may be too nice.
And Q2 is good to Haas- got both cars into Q3 as nobody was able to challenge them thanks to Tsunoda crashing with 10sec to go.
So Q3 has 2 Haas' and one Williams. Throwing out some bad memories of not long ago for both teams.
Carlos is kicking some butt these days. I sure don't know who is going to be leading into turn 2 tomorrow. Long drive down to 1...

Performance doesn't necessarily mean willingness to play political games. Perhaps they're thinking Lewis and Charles will be more apt to go team strategy that Carlos who let's it all hang out.
In reply to kevlarcorolla :
Carlos didn't raise Ferraris market value by a couple hundred million, either.
Carlos will be back in red in a couple of years, I bet, unless he finds something better.
In reply to Streetwiseguy :
Ferrari isn't Red Bull, so as long as Bearman improves, he'll get the seat when Lewis retires. Which is also why they will take Charles over Carlos pretty consistently.
And to be optimistic, Sainz may have a good thing at Williams- he may not want to leave.
Gonna wreck again I bet. Glad didn't take Charles out too. Just saw replay an they need to park Max.
So Max isn't as mature as people seem to think he is. He forced Lando off twice. And Lando was ahead at the apex this time. But at least it cost him a place to Ferrari. Who may pass RBR in the standing.
edit- and 10 second penalty for max.
Max. Hehehe. That was a bit over the top, and not within the definition of the rules, now.
Sure looks like another Ferari day. I wonder if they will favor Charle on the pit stops?

So over the top that it's now a 20 second penalty. That's huge.
20 seconds total now for Max, Perez fighting hard but at the rear, seems like they might lose a ton of constructors points today.
RB really needs to tell Max how it is vs the ya mate your 100% amazing at everything at all times style of managing.
The current passing rule encourages the "off the brake, roll to the apex" behavior. Simple modification would be, if you roll off the brake and can't stay within track limits, one cancels the other, and whoever exits first gets to be ahead.
