Glad to see Max get that penalty,I was watching it wondering why he was bitching about Oscar going too slow when they each have a gap delta to maintain and he was nearly stabbing his wing into Oscars rear tires before vsc ended.

I know and I understand. It's not just this time. I've been around a long time and I would not have any satisfaction knowing I didn't earn it no matter what sport or game I played. I never wanted someone to let me win.
Obviously they'd much rather win it on the track. Consider though, that the team does not let the two drivers fight as hard as they are allowed to fight drivers on other teams, because they want to protect team points.
It's oddly fitting that Verstappen was complaining on the radio about making sure that Piastri didn't go too slowly under the VSC, when ultimately it was Verstappen who was going too fast.
Conditions were not much better today when they finally got qualifying in. And there are a LOT of really, really busy mechanics right now. Quite a few cars crashed in quali thanks to the rain. But that also very much mixed up the order- thanks to a late red flag, Max didn't get a good run in for Q2, and was out, add in his 5 grid penalty, and he's pretty far back, near Lewis who had a bad Q1.
Lawson and Tsunoda almost got on the front row, in the end. But it was Lando and George starting at the front.
I'll be interested in seeing the weather for today's race.
Bad day for old Maxie. Might as well add some more new parts to avoid future pain, now.
Wet race, too, likely, which is probably good for Max. Should be an interesting day, as long as it doesn't rain so hard they run the whole thing under safety car. Which would be very, very bad for Max.

So while I don't like Max much, what happened to him is one of those small things that I'm not a fan of wet racing- he was out on a decent lap when a crash on the other side of the track put the red flag out. While the skill needs to be super high to drive well in the wet, the luck is still there. Meaning that Max and Lewis have to be super careful from the back, as it's reasonably likely that the car they are passing looses it, and crashes the two cars out.
But the luck of a sudden crash is the only think I don't like about wet racing.
There's going to be a few dumpsters full of suspension parts between quali and the race.
Jeez. How many pit lane starts this afternoon? Both Astons, both Williams, one Ferrari, at least.
Looks like the weather pushed up the start time by an hour and a half! The race is just about to start on ESPNU. Glad I looked to see what the conditions were going to be.
And thanks to Stroll going off in the formation lap, it's chaos out there.
What a mess! Looks like Canada is trying to stay as relevant to the title chase as they were in 2021.

So this may be the correct time? I'm confused- I could of sworn the start time was to be 2pm track time, or noon EST. And I see no "correction" to 12:30p track time or now. Which is barely any time to rebuild the cars from qualifying.
Ok, looking at the TV schedule, 2pm/noon EST WAS the time to start the race, this is totally new.
I guess I should have reminders on.
LOL...Max whining that Leclerc didn't leave him a car width.....how does that rule work when Max dives inside and shoves himself and the other car off the track.
This rain is going to slow soon, this is kind of nuts out there. It looked that McLaren made the wrong call WRT the tire change and the VSC, but they got that time all the way back to the drivers who passed them when pitting.
And Mercedes will have some meetings after the race thanks to changing tire pressure on the 2nd grid.
So much for the time change- red flag for sure now.
Everything so back and forth in terms of benefits.
This race is berking insane. Hard to deny Max's talent in the rain, plus with a bit of luck from SC's and strategy, he is locking down his WDC.
Feel bad for those who pitted for full wets, only for race control to deem conditions too unsafe. Maybe if everyone had wets on, they'd be allowed to race... Honestly they should just ditch the full wets, rename the inters as wet, and SC for visibility as necessary.

And this is the part that really makes Max look like a child. Sometimes the circumstances work for you, sometimes they work against you. He always complains that when it works against him, it's a conspiracy where people are out to get him, but he'll never acknowledge that when it worked for him, it helps win a championship.
Just like he complains when he forces a car off, and then complains when he's even squeezed a little bit. And he whines badly when his car isn't in a good place.
Max is such a good driver, he has no need to whine about anything, or drive like a bully. And that really takes away from what he is doing.
I had Max finishing about P5 today. Until about lap 10, when I moved him up to P3.
The George and Lando pitted... estimate moved to P1. Gotta give him credit, even if he is a whiney little bitch.
The seniors were hurting. Alonso sounded awful at the end. Lewis was sad yesterday, and I bet not a lot better today..
