I can understand why someone would not like Max, but I take exception to someone saying that he has average skills. The last few seasons he's proven that he's the best driver overall. Yes, he's had the best car, but he rarely makes mistakes, and his beatdown of the field in Brazil shows just how great he is.

Which is why it's so easy to hate him since it's so talented but drives like with the mentality of a spoiled child too many times.

This sums it up.

Except when things don't go his way, then he starts doing completely stupid things.

He's amazingly talented; probably one of the most talented drivers ever but the impetuous behaviour does his talent a disservice.

I'm sure most of you may have seen the interesting failure news from last weekend- Gasley's engine let go because he was going too fast.  When was the last time you heard of an F1 engine dying from overrevving?

How is that even possible? What on earth does Alpine use for a rev limiter?

Apart from the great battle between Charles and Lewis, there wasn't a lot of action in the sprint race to talk about.

Yeah that was dull AF. I hope the race comes up with a little more action.

Well, Oscar got paid back for letting Lando by in that previous race - now that it no longer matters to the driver's championship he can be the bigger man and let him win one. I dunno about that team.......

Fun to see LeClerc and the Hamster going at it and not taking each other out!  Maybe a prelude to next season? smiley

I hope the full on race is better.

I just can't see Perez' contract being honored for 2025......

Max demoted a spot from pole for driving too slowly before the last run in Q3. Puts George on pole

How so?  There is a max time rule to do an out lap. If there is a rule, there is a penalty.

Too many rules. No joy watching F1. Russell is such a whiner. Whines about everything and everyone.

Saw the replay- Max was going slowly right at the apex when George came up on him- pretty easy blocking call there. George complained just as max does when anyone comes close to him.

Shouldn't matter. Rules are rules, except for Max. Turn 4 in Brazil 2021 was proof Max can kill and get away with it. Complete BS. 3 places is the penalty. Period.

Does the rule require it to be?  Regardless of the type of lap, George closed so fast on Max that the team should have told him. If they did, and he still did that, well...

Its hilarious to think that max would not have gone ballistic if the roles were reversed.

Max would have gone crazy.  He's a petulant 2 year old. Complete narcissist. He always blames everyone else. Really wonder what would have happened if George had been on a push lap and not heads up .there.

Yes, and the way the ruling was written, any driver can now just drive dangerously fast behind another driver who is in traffic, who is also not on a push lap, complain on the radio, and gain a grid position. And you know who will gladly try to abuse that rule next time...

I know this forum is anti-Max but come on, that's a bullE36 M3 ruling.

Now the stewards waited too long to SC and clear the track of Albon's mirror, someone hit it, and we have multiple punctures. Complete disaster class from stewards this weekend.

That's the race director that calls that, isn't it?

The stop/go for Norris was the stewards' call, though, and it seems a little harsh.
