The stewards seem to be quite harsh at this race

That's the race director that calls that, isn't it?
The stop/go for Norris was the stewards' call, though, and it seems a little harsh.
Yep, stewards don't call VSC/Safety car etc, just hand out penalties after the fact.
Something is going on with the Stewards, race directors and the FIA, lots of changes, people being fired, rolls changing. Just makes you wonder if we are seeing that show up in the races now.

Not only easy, but dangerous. That really called for more than a 3 grid placement penalty and is exactly why the rule is in place.
Not only anti-max but pro Lewis. Thay hated Niko Rosberg as well. Talk about Max being childish, they need to look in mirror.

Spoken like the average Max fan. Not only not knowing the history of the sport, nor the rules, and why they're there, but supporting someone who hangs with Bolsinaro.
Probably know more history than you think. I'm 80 years old. I'm not fan of anyone since Jim Clark. You don't know me and I'm glad you don't.
The lack of a vsc for debris was a huge mistake. The penalties were strange. It's fun to watch cars go this fast but this race is boring as can be.

Ah, the holidays, when normally chill people go off for seemingly insignificant reasons.

Very proud to not know you as well. Your lack of knowledge is impressive.
In reply to NY Nick :
Controlled chaos, remind you of 21 perhaps? Masi wasn't an aberration, but a tool of those in charge.

Ah yes, let's gatekeep F1 fandom to folks who don't watch races instead of enthusiasts who do. This is GRM, not facebook. Chill out man.

Yes, and the way the ruling was written, any driver can now just drive dangerously fast behind another driver who is in traffic, who is also not on a push lap, complain on the radio, and gain a grid position. And you know who will gladly try to abuse that rule next time...
I know this forum is anti-Max but come on, that's a bullE36 M3 ruling.
Not sure what you are getting at- fast cars on a race track- who would have expected that? It's the slow cars that are dangerous. That was a super easy call and hardly biased, max could slowed more before the corner, but he put himself right on the racing line going slow. This is not rocket science, it's common sense.
It's been the same ruling for others and just because max is champion does not excuse him from it.
In reply to alfadriver :
It's not the same. He was investigated for driving too slowly which is a reprimand at worst. But his penalty was for impeding, which isn't possible with both cars on a cooldown lap. Impeding is 3 positions but they knocked it down to 1. I get the hate for Max but this one is pretty stupid.

I would say the buck stops with the head of the FIA,been lots of dodgy stuff since he took over....but the FIA does have a long history of dodgery in F1
In reply to maschinenbau :
We will have to agree to disagree. Max was in a really bad spot to be going that slow. And got caught. Deal with it.
In reply to Docwemple :
You have no idea how much knowledge I have. Your childish responses to me and others says it all.

FIA is in turmoil thanks to the leadership. Firings all over the place.
In reply to alfadriver :
The entire globe knows they blew 21 for RBR and Max. Instead of fixing it, they doubled down. Further, from friends involved in other FIA classes, the Masi thing was inevitable. The only reason he has a job is to keep.him quiet.
The Max penalty was odd. Had George been on a flying lap, sure, but he wasn't.
Lewis screwed up, and got done for it. Legit.
Lando stole a chocolate bar from the 7-11 and got 4 years in prison. Punishment seemed a bit harsh.
Why would you want to clean up broken glass and carbon from the only passing zone on the track???
Weird.
