I just want to take a minute to appreciate this community, and Grassroots Motorsports. It's one of the only magazines I've ever consistently sat down and read cover to cover consistently.

I love the amount and diversity of the posts here, and in almost all of the categories the oldest post on the first page is less than a day. In an age of Facebook and the shrinking death of forums, I'm glad that there is such an active community. Carry on!

Thank you for the kind words--and thanks, everyone, for making this a cool place to hang out.

You've done a good job articulating a thought and sentiment I've had for quite a while now.  Agreed.

My thanks go out to the Suddard Family and all the wonderful contributing members here.

Amen!

Im old enough to remember when forums were new. I still hunt for forum posts, as facebook is all but unsearchable for me.

I essentially live here. Most all my friends are here, and i learn something new and interesting every single day. Im honored to be a member of the forum, and love the magazine.

I only gave up and got onto f-book a few months ago since there was no other way to keep up with the local autocross clubs.

I'd rather be here. I'm so grateful for this forum, and for GRM.

A lot of us have bitched about the forum format here compared to others, but it's still light years better than failbook! yes

I still prefer forums over Facebook when I look something up, want reviews, needing a how-to, etc etc.

Trying to navigate Facebook and the endless posts of "What oil should I use" is tiresome.

Yup, I'm in the middle of my second 10-year subscription to the mag and I spend 60% of my online time here.  The GRM family have built a part of the world they can be proud of.

Yes this is a fine place to hang out and learn. FB is too many ads and sponsor this and that.

It's not even the ads and sponsors that are the worst problems on FB, it's that the "feed" software just isn't designed to be used the way forums are.  You can't browse topics, you can't intermingle pictures and words, and there's no concept of "show me the new comments on a topic I'm interested in".  Their whole system is designed to automatically pick what content to show you (for whatever reasons they want), rather than letting you look over the list of everything and decide what interests you.

I use FB to keep in touch with friends that I don't see regularly, but that's really the only thing it's good for IMHO.

They aren't dead but they smell funny.

Seriously, some are dead.  One of the F500 forums just disappeared and the other one sees about 6 new posts a month.  Same with Apexspeed though their numbers are a little better.  This is about the only healthy forum I know of.

Facebook car groups = The LCD.

Forums = Mostly guys that either understand what they are doing and have good info, or new guys that actually want to learn instead of being spoon fed.

Most of the "Forums" that I have seen decline have been too inbred to survive long term. I don't care how Hardcore you are, a single marque or topic forum is going to get old.

GRM evolves continuously with participants and thread topics. Unlike many forums, there is no one right or wrong way to skin the cat, just an abiding interest in how others skin their cats with tips and appreciation for the results.
