I think most people would take the 5.0 over the original 2V 4.6, but the 4V 4.6 is a different animal. It's a tougher, lighter motor with more power from the factory. The only case where I'd take the 5.0 over a 4V 4.6 would be if I were planning to modify the engine pretty heavily. Under those circumstances you will save some money going with the 5.0... though this is probably less true than it was 10 or 15 years ago.
I own this car. Just to clarify, it is titled as a 1995 but has a 4.6. It's the earliest known 4.6 out there. There is a complete book of documentation backing everything up. As far as the rear bumper and tail lights, one of the previous owners changed them out for 96 model year, not sure why. The hood and wheels came from the factory as the car was not built to be sold to the public. The car was sent to both Torsen and Tokiko for "prototype " suspension and differential pieces which were used to help John Ames win the SCCAs. The car is not currently in the trim it left the factory with, but rather is pretty much a full road course or solo course ready car. Every part that was removed from the car is still with it, in boxes and labeled.
Did not expect this to come back from the dead. Are you the owner that was selling it a year ago or did you recently purchas it.
Do you have an actual letter from Ford documenting the car?

I purchased the car last year a from dealership in Florida, Streetside Classics. I believe it was on consignment from the owner.

Yes I have multiple letters from Ford. There's even an invoice signed by Jack Roush for an intake that was installed on the car. There's a lot of documentation included, and the car was also featured in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords which confirms most of the info.
That is really cool!!!! Sounds like a really cool car that is part of mustang history. What are your plans for the car?

I drive it to Mustang car shows a few times each summer. That's it lol. Keep it in great condition and hope it goes up in value.

Did it come with the original taillights and rear bumper?
Any issue registering it?
