My car has this gauge package installed: I'm really not very fond of it; it tends to block my view around some corners and just looks too boy-racerish. I could also do without the air-fuel gauge; it doesn't seem to give me much useful information and blinks annoyingly most of the time.

I have a pretty much useless bin on top of the dash: I've heard of people building gauges into it. A nice small pair of digital gauges for oil pressure and boost would suit me just fine. Any idea who might sell something like that? I realize that would force me to relocate the radar detector, which I would like to put up above the mirror: My only concern there is that the dots on the windshield might attenuate the radar signals somewhat. I know it can't block them completely.

What do you think?

Build a gauge pod that replaces the bin and add a place for the detector as part of the unit.

dots would only get in the way for laser.. should not affect regular radar

What type of car? Looks like a wrx interior. Anyways. My forester xt had a bin like that. Luckily there is a hood for the navigation equipped foresters. I replaced the bin, fabricated a insert and put in the gauges.

I never cared for A pillar mounted gages. Not sure what the F&F crowd saw in them
