The rebuild parts for the 5 speed in my Datsun (60 series from 81 210) are becoming very scarce.

What I am trying to do is find something readily available and compact.

Miata 5 speeds are cheap plentiful; this would require an adapter plate and or adapting the bell housing, which would involve cutting the front case on the Miata transmission. No clue what my fabricator would charge to adapt this.

The Ford Type 9 has a separate bell housing and I have Datsun automatic bell housing. Note the manual Datsun transmission is a front case type. Burton power in the UK sells all the rebuild parts as well as close ratio gearsets.  The down side if this is all in cost is likely to cost upwards of $3500 all in.

So my question is what would you choose?
