I need to do my sales calls dressed like this for a week while driving the Caddy:
I bought a fake Rolex from a fellow on the riverfront promenade in Shanghai who was dressed just like that, and he had a bunch of watches hanging inside the jacket. It was a scene right out of the movies.

Thats right up there with the Top 10 symbols of America. Apple pie, enormous Cadillacs, Flat-Fender MB Willys, Baseball...

And a Chevy engine? Really? Why would you do that?
Why not? GM did it. And Pontiac and Buick engines, too. Resulted in a class action lawsuit, tho....
I say throw air ride on it and stop modding there. Leave the stock wheels. Drive the hell out of it.
I second the bull horns, stock otherwise.
My brother in law has a 76, feels like the same footprint as a dually box truck to me. He refuses to do the horn mod for some reason.
Want to know what I paid?
Hint: I have room in the Challenge budget...
One of my neighbors used to own the twin to that car - same year, same color. They're great cars, and 1973 was a good year - 1974 brought bigger bumpers, and 1975 brought catalytic converters. I've always thought Cadillacs of that era are undervalued, you can get a lot of car for not much money.

May I suggest two of these?
And no I don't mean monster energy cans.
Two words:
Fuel Injection
That is a sweet car. Much jealousity.

As big a turbo as you can get and still keep it in the budget for $2015.
You need to go someplace. Drive to Key West or Alaska (next summer) or just someplace awesome. That car was meant to DRIVE, go drive it.
For that you need the giant turbo from a semi, just one of them, through a huge intercooler to a carb box. Too big doesn't apply since who cares about lag when you have 472 ci?

I think the 427 has enough down low that it should be fine for the autox(other than the 5250 lb weight and 12 feet of hood) but the turbo should help the 1/4 since it is a 3 speed. iirc the red line is like 5200 rpm but the valves start to float at 4400rpm.
There was no reason what so ever not to pop on that. Almost forgot what 70's interiors looked like but that interior looks super. If mine, probably go over the mechanicals, maybe update the stereo system (even a hidden system), call it a win and drive it. Road trip!
Nice score Javelin.

It's actually gold with a tan/gold top and interior. Moar pics here.
i guess gold is a better color on a Cadillac than puke green, which is a color that belongs on the "poor man's" versions of this car that came from Olds and Buick..
which reminds me, i really loved the 74 Olds Delta 88 that my grandpa had in the late 80's and early 90's.. that thing really made the miles pass by, and it did a pretty mean burnout, too.. i was sad when the guy that bought it from him at auction for $300 put it in a demo derby and blew it up before hitting anyone..
