Got these on our 2004 Lincoln Navigator. This is the first of the gizmos on the car to break. The main problem is the passenger mirror seems to just swing freely without any tension on it. It's still hooked to the mechanism that folds the mirrors since it moves when you fold or unfold them, but it just sorta keeps unfolding until it's looking like it's ready to start flapping like a wing out there. Then if you put your hand on it the thing just sort of flops around whereas the driver side is under tension.

I guess I will have to take the door panel off to figure out what is wrong with it.

After much consideration and a helping of laziness I decide to let the thing just not be fixed, because while it would be nice to have it fold up since I could park a little closer to the house if I fold up the mirrors, meh.

So, which gizmos are you letting rot unrepaired on your vehicles currently?

I drive old stuff. There are minimal gizmos to start with. The power locks on the rear doors of the truck have been disconnected, because the broken actuators are $200+ each. That's all I got. Everything else has manual locks, and manual windows.

I guess if my wife decides she won't adjust the passenger side mirror for me I'll have to get her "fixed".

Kinda wish I had no gizmos on the older cars. The 2004 Navigator is way too laden with them.

I gave up on A/C in the Accent when the compressor locked up 3 years ago. The CD player ate a disc & it took nearly a year before it would eject, so I don't use it anymore. Someone stole the stubby radio antenna, so I'm tuneless, but that doesn't bother me either.

I have a '92 BMW so... The power sunroof doesn't work nor do both driver side windows. I'm hoping to fix the windows soon though. Oh, and the outside temp. display in the dash always shows -35* F.

Edit: now that I think about it though, less stuff is wrong in the Bimmer than all the crap that doesn't work in the base '05 Expedition "Home Depot run" mobile. There's not even that much to go wrong in that thing but what's there has pretty much all stopped working.

this is one of the reasons i like old cars. My wifes saturn occasionally kills a cd but im too lazy to change the head unit and just tell her to listen too the radio.

Isn't your Navigator one of the ones with the power running boards? I would have expected that to rust into a million pieces by now.

Power mirrors went out in my '05 Malibu, so did the drivers door lock switch, but with that i just traded it with the passenger switch.

Also on the Malibu the fuel level sensor doesnt work after you fill the tank, it just reads empty till you get down about two gallons then works right.

My '08 Cobalt front speakers dont work most of the time. In fact the few times they do work is when I actualy have plans to try to figure out if its the speaker, wiring, or the channel in the head unit.

My wifes '11 Nissan Rogue sometimes the nav doesnt work and you have to pop out the map memory card a few times to get it working.

You guys reminded me that I never fixed the AC in the Miata when I had it, but who needs AC in an NA Miata racecar anyway?

Thankfully it does not have those, but it does have the air suspension which I suspect I will not be able to avoid repairing when it inevitably breaks.

Heated seats and power sliding doors.

I would fix the heated seats immediately if they broke. LOL. Love those things in the winter.

Before I was married with kids, if it ran, it was totally fine.

A/C broke? Oh well

Power steering broke? Not a big deal, just steer harder.

No E brake? Eh, whatever

Cab so rusty that it moved a bit under hard braking? Brake less hard.

Now things are a bit different.
