Is there a way I can find out the difference between two OEM shocks that go on a GMT900? This 2008 Denali calls for #19300072. I can find #19300071 for about $100 less per shock. Will this vehicle know which shocks I've put on it? They both have the same mounts, air fittings, and wire connections.

What is #19300071 supposed to fit?

Right, but which ones? I imagine the cheaper one is a pickup shock, probably valved differently, how different I couldn't tell you.

i don't know about the newer stuff, but the 90's Suburbans have different rear shocks than pickups... they are a couple of inches shorter in the Subs than in the pickups.

A 2008 Yukon xl could have been fitted with either part number from the factory. The particular one I'm working on has option codes that specify the "72" number replacement. Some other option codes would require the "71"'s. I'm wondering if we have anybody in our midst with GM info that could tell me what the difference is, and if my vehicles computer system is gonna freak if i use the wrong one.
