This is my fourth season autocrossing, and I'm wondering if a Go Pro will help me drive faster. I just bought a fast set of tires (G-force Rivals) for my own car finally. I need to try to make all my races with it, since repairs had me miss numerous autocross races with it in the last two seasons. Besides that, is a Go Pro the second best way to get faster?
Absolutely! It's a great way to analyze your driving without the adrenaline pumping. Study what you did good and not so good so you can learn from it and apply it to your next event.
For instance, the GF and I went to an autocross last weekend. There were a couple slaloms and I told her that she was late on both slaloms. She was sure that she wasn't, until we watched the video afterwards. It was easier to see the mistake when she wasn't in the excitement of driving.

Other than new stickers, yes the GoPro is the next best thing. I like having two now so I can put one inside the car facing me, and watch them together to see where I should have gone faster (a lot) and where I should have shifted, or not.

I have 2 new stickers this yr …and I've won (handily) all 3 a-x's since they've been on the car … got my butt handed to me on the one where I didn't have the new stickers
coincidence ?
I don't have adrenaline pumping much when I race, but sometimes, it's hard determining where I'm slow at since my memory isn't the greatest.
My car has plenty of stickers, trophies too,
and I just received 5 more (stickers) for my races.
It's a great tool to analyze your driving. I stuck one on my son for our first event and we could see his line is great but he needs to be more aggressive with the throttle and brake. He drives a kart so he can't get passenger seat feedback. Also it's hard to coach him when I can only see the first and last portions of the course. I used it at our last event and see I need to work on the same things.
