So yesterday I get up early and wash the wife's so it's nice and clean for the funeral we need to attend. Go to the funeral home, then to the church, then to the cemetery, and back to the church for a family lunch. Head straight home afterwards. This morning I walk out to the driveway and there is a big vertical dent and red paint transfer on the passenger door. Obviously someone parked next to us and opened their door hard enough for it to leave the dent in our car. Sad part is between my wife and I, we knew around 80% of the attendees, and nobody said anything. I have to assume they didn't even realize what happened or they would have at least wiped the red paint off. Berkelying oblivious old farts!!!!

Most typically it's caused by children pushing their doors open... maybe their dad already put them in the ground...
Just let it go... its just a car. It you must, find out the deceased's friends with red cars, but then what... just let it go.
There is only one attendant at the funeral who is not suspect.
And with all those stops you never noticed the dent.
How do you know it happened at the funeral home.
I have two 'impact marks' on our van (that has less than 8k miles on it!) from two separate vehicles on two different dates. Both happened at church....
Kids and seniors, the most likely two groups to have caused it, sometimes don't even realize they did it. I am not kidding.
Doesn't that fall under hit and run damage that your insurance company would take care of?
It was on the passenger side. I was driving the car. The first time I walked around to that side of the car, I saw the damage. Doubt it was a kid, because I pretty much was the kid at the funeral. I am 47 and don't remember seeing anyone much younger than me. The funeral featured a serious geezer demographic. Not that it really matters, because my wife works at a grocery store. Within a couple of years the car will look like it was parked on a driving range anyway.
Think that's bad? Last year at a funeral home, a family member of the deceased had their catalytic conv. stolen in parking lot.

I also work at a grocery store. I always park way out, but I have still lost a side mirror from a stray shopping cart, and more recently had someone cut the corner to make a big gash in my front quarter panel.
