I had a 65 coupe. I bought it in Hemet California . Two friends and I drove it up the coast to Oregon and snowboarded on Mount Hood on August 6th 1989. Then continued back to Michigan. Leaving the ski area we see a guy hitchhiking down to HoodRiver carrying a snowboard. we stopped to pick him up. He is from Scotland . He begins to put the board in the car. I say let's put it in the trunk. He said that it would not fit. I said let me try to get it in the trunk , knowing that my Sims 171 Blade and Craig's Elan 207 GS skis are already tucked in next to our camping gear and 2 large coolers. His jaw was slack when he saw the contents of the boot. I think that he gave us a nice chunk of the local green wax
It's the sort of trunk that you load by having one guy climb in and another guy hand stuff to him.

Yes but how much of a miata can you fit in one? Everything sans body shell?
This has not been an experiment I have attempted. But I'll bet you could get close.
This was before paint and that's snow on the car :)
It stands out in the company parking lot (old FM shop here).
Toyman's initial picture of the car somehow makes it look much smaller than it is, a 1961 is about the same size as my 66.

I tried to sell a 1961 Caddy on this forum a year and a half ago. It was straight, rust free, and had the 390.
Couldn't talk any of you into it.
Ended up selling it on eBay for $1000.

Now Paul you make it sound like it was a jump in and drive home car. It was a project needing to be put together. That said I had desire but no need for a 20 foot long car in my driveway.

I know I was on here a year ago, I know I had 1000, and I never saw the ad. I'm screaming inside.
60s caddies are an itch I'll probably never scratch but that's only because it's the one car I can't justify.

That's true. Guilty as charged.
Distance is also important. This one is 10 miles from home.

Now I'm trying to imagine someone with a need for a 20 foot long Cadillac but no desire for one.
Well, I looked at it and didn't buy it...yet.
It's tempting.
The hood is pretty rusty across the front. There is some rust behind the passenger front tire. The owner says it has a bad brake booster, but I'm not sure he would know for sure. At any rate, it has a new master that is not bolted to the booster and no brakes. The booster is NLA. That means rebuilding it myself, having it rebuilt for stupid money, or converting it to something different.
All the windows work, the floor pans are sound, the engine sounds tight. But I can't drive it with no brakes.
It's also priced a little higher than I would like.
I'm going to have to think on this one.

You'd want to convert to a dual reservoir master cylinder anyway. On my 60 I went with 67 (last year of drum/drum) MC and booster. IIRC the main mod was to elongate two holes in the firewall and everything bolted up.
