Since they are highly suspect, and the only fuel system component I have not yet replaced, I will be pulling the fuel injectors from my turbo Saab tomorrow to bench clean them DIY-style. I've never done this before, so some tips would be helpful. I would love to send them off to be professionally cleaned, but I can't be without a vehicle in the turnaround time.
Basically I am going to soak them in some carb cleaner for a few hours, then cycle the injectors open and closed rapidly with 12v as I spray more carb cleaner and compressed air through, and rebuild with all new o-rings and pintle caps before reinstalling.
That's pretty much the deal, right? Does Seafoam or any other cleaner do better than carb cleaner? I'd like to do the best job possible the first time around to prevent future headaches.
We use Ligui Moly Jectron for our CIS injector tester/cleaner. Does really well at dissolving sludge. But I am also a big fan of SeaFoam too.
I'd also replace o-rings and filters if yours has them. Might as well. I used an ez-out to remove the filters, just twist it in a little bit and pull the filter back out.

If you can fangle a setup that pulses the injectors,with pressurized SeaFoam running through, it would probably work best.
Output spray of injector gets collected into a tank, which the pump picks back up to pressurize the injector, etc, etc,

Oh, and if you can also heat the SeaFoam, even better.

I pressurize the carb cleaner I spray through using a lengrhbifcvinyl hose & the air nozzle , I cycle them with s 9V battery & a tsimple button
I usually just power them up with a 9v battery and shoot carb cleaner and compressed air through them backwards. I think going backwards is the key, as there's probably some gunk in there that simply will never break down enough to pass through them.
