It's designed for one's lap/legs. Look it up at Mossmotors.com

Try a camping/RV store, they might have something that can be retrofitted into the seat...might be a bit hard to find, though. You sort of need a 12volt heating pad you can put atop the foam padding in a seat, but under the fabric, that will hold up year round.

SO, how about finding a seat already with a heater in it at a junk yard, test it before buying, and then put it in the seat as you reupholster it between now and X-mass morning!

If you want to go the DIY route most 90s seat heater elements can be removed once the seat skin is off. I used Range Rover pads for my Miata. Add switches and you're done.

If you want a kit I'd go with whatever Moss sells.

Victoria British sells add-on kits.

I installed a similar kit in our Spitfire with marginal results... basically: they don't work despite everything testing out fine. Not sure why.

I got SWMBO seat heaters last Xmas.....installed in a 2010 Hyundai Sonata. 2-temp heaters. When we looked at new cars, a few of the dealers said they could and would install bun-warmers in a car w/cloth seats if we wanted, as long as we pay for it. So I know they are out there but don't know of a specific brand. Sorry.

The must have been Lucas reproduction items to have so perfectly replicated the effectiveness of the british electronics

NAPA sells them. I bought a kit for my wife's car. I'll let you know how it goes. Retails for around $100 per seat, ymmv.

These used to be under $15 - they are light as a feather, waterproof and awesome for sitting on a rock wall in the woods on a 12F day (assuming the rest of you isn't naked, that is).

The same company makes whole "seat" ones that extend up your back that would be perfect for a car seat.

No kidding... and the annoying part is the car has an aftermarket wiring harness, so power supply is not an issue.

Yeah... if they're going into a car that could have had them, I'd try the OE-retrofit route.
