Since the housing market crash, all the parents can't afford to refinance their homes to pay for their kid's cars.

I've also noticed they have been losing the sticker wars recently. That is, the Greddy stickers haven't been the ones you put on your car to impress anyone for quite a while.

I keep telling all my friends - now is the time to buy up a bunch of riced out Civics, Eclipses & Supras. 25-30 years from now they'll make you a millionare.

A company that names itself "Great Eddy" after the owner kinda makes you wonder from the start.

What about APC? I saw a bunch of APC stuff at the dollar store last weekend. Like the APC windshield banners, oil caps, etc. That can't be a good sign.

Pete, I don't think you're too far off on the future trends there. People are going to want a slammed 1990 Civic with a fart can and huge wing just like they had way back when, and they'll pay good money for it because all the rest of them will be recycled by then as the Chineese eat up the world's scrap markets. The Supras will probably still be running, just really trashed out.

Civics and typical "ricer" cars may some day command a premium price but I bet it wont be the ones that are in ricer fashion.

Just like '70's Camaros are going up in value, but not the ones that have super lift rear air shocks as was all the rage when they were newer. It is the closer to stock models that people want.

Wait a minute. Are you saying that Civics aren't the first cars to be "hot rodded" by people with questionable taste?

Goes to show that the cheap knock-off guys are hurting too sometimes.

as for the collectibles.. I think people will want the cars they knew in their youth but couldn't afford. example my brother in law had a hyundai pony with a fart can and neon... I could see him wanting a 93 rx7 or supra or one of the cars he lusted after...

Just like the old guys who are buying now.. In the 60-70's they all drove left overs with a slant six and a pushbutton trans.. and wanted that hemi cuda. They now have good jobs and own the hemi cuda.. the guy who had the hemi cuda back in the day now has hep c and a good job shining balls down at the beer and bowl.

The supra is already a bit of a collectable car at least the mid 90's twin turbo...
