My google foo is failing me on this one. Looking for an article on prepping a car to nationals level for "Street" Category. I was thinking there was an article on this but I'm not having luck finding it.
Thanks

The Street Category is very limited in prep. That's why I like the old "Stock" better, the car is practically in stock form. You need performance shocks, ONE sway bar, and polyurethane endlinks are allowed. You are allowed to put a performance alignment on it within the factory tolerances. Wheels can be 1" bigger or smaller in diameter from the factory, but the width has to be the same. The offset needs to be almost the same, too. That's about it. Of course, you will have a set of extreme performance summer tires from the Tire Rack on it.

What? Other than the +/-1" wheel allowance (which is essentially a worthless allowance for cars in the GRM forum price range), the allowed prep between the old "Stock" and new "Street" is basically the same.
Or are you confusing "Street Touring" which has more prep allowances?
Are we talking about Street as in the replacement for Stock or are we talking about Street Touring classes, because one is very different from the other.
Yeah just the base "Street" class not ST. I've read through the rules a couple dozen times but it would be cool to see what all goes into prepping a car for national level competition in the stock classes. I thought there was an article about it but can't find it.
yeah .. the "new" Street is the same as the old Stock, with the exception of R-comps no longer being a thing …
there may be a few clarifications concerning ECU/traction control/ABS .. etc … while the SCCA rule book is a major PITA to work through … at least when trying to examine Street, you don't have to keep referring back and forth to prior prep levels …
