So I hate myself for my last post. The "Since I know you love a GTI" post. In fairness, I did it with the best intentions. I saw a GRM-type car that I know people love, and wanted to see it go to a good home. Then I realized that I basically was spamming without the benefits.

I thought I might start a thread for all of us "car-bored" (nice mag tie in there), that find good cars that we want to see save, but for whatever reason it isn't the right car for us personally.

Post 'em.... or if you are the admin and think this is a terrible idea... lock the thread with my apologies!

This is a very small foul, IMO. Usually, when we find stuff like this, we post the link in the classifieds (especially in the $200X Challenge section) with a disclaimer such as "..not mine, no affiliation.." etc.

Trust me, there are a lot of us here looking for stuff like that. Heck, if I hadn't just bought & shipped that set of OEM "Snowflakes" last month (ended up spending about $600, I must be spending too much time over at Classic Motorsports..), the GTI you posted up would be in my garage right now.

My Audi GT. Since I sold it, it's been rotting in the buyer's driveway with the clearcoat going bad. Infuriates me. If anyone wants a neat car with a very expensive engine in it that isn't competitive in any amateur racing class, I can put you in touch with the guy. Link to my car's build: Audi Coupe GT It may be a little more than Challenge money to buy it.

Ohhh, that's the worst year for an Alfa. Don't buy that one.

Pssst... . . .

This and the other thread of yours should be in the 200X section. No harm no foul on your part. I have made some fantastic Internet blunders. Basically the 200x section is the "GRM Car Finds" section of this site.

That GTI is really cool. Up here in the rust belt they are getting harder to come by.

I posted in another forum about looking for a carfax report. It was immediately under a "sticky" thread that said something like "no carfax reports"

And even worse... I'm a moderator on that forum
