That was a very memorable and tough race. I was racing very hard but in trying to line up someone in front of me for a pass someone would get by me every time. I think on the first three laps there was at least one time per lap where I exited a corner and ran into the back of someone that made an error, thus putting them back into the race while holding me back.
I decided to keep doing what I was doing. Then all of a sudden I was near the front. I saw a green cars start to go inside on the second to last corner. All I could do then was to see if I could just miss the green and yellow cars on exit. Then I was surprised Dean was so slow out of the last turn so draft and pass.
Very much a lesson of the first lap first turn meaning nothing. The race is won at the line.
