We have posted a new job opening with details at: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/employment/
We are looking for an advertising sales person with experience in advertising, marketing, the car hobby, event sponsorship, and/or internet advertising sales.
If you are honest, serious, hard working, have real experience in some or all of these areas, want to make a real decent living and are willing to drink the GRM/CMS Kool-aid and are ready and willing and able to move to Daytona Beach, FL, please follow the instructions and send a resume and cover letter.
Oddly enough, when we post job openings, we get tons of resumes and phone calls from people who don't follow instructions, don't have the right experience, don't have any intention of moving to Florida to actually come to work (and are shocked when you ask them if they are ready to move to Florida).
So please... we like to give our readers first and shot at these opportunities and please share this information with any appropriate friends, co-workers and forums you are on, but please do not send resumes without cover letters. Please don't call the office. Please don't send a resume if you aren't willing to move to Florida or don't have the experience, or at least a glimmer of the experience needed, as this all takes time away from making the magazines better. Thanks for your help with this.

I often advertise for ENTRY LEVEL sales and get guys with 20 years experience expecting $125-150,000 per year.

GRM's an awesome group of people, and Central FL is a great place to live.

Does working in industrial sales count? And do I get my own private jet?
Heck at this point I would move in a heart beat if I had all the qualifications you guys are looking for. Got some sales and marketing stuff but not a ton.

Same here.
I think I have two out of five. The and/or means one out of five gives you a fighting chance!
And I don't think my IT experience would help, especially since they like to use Macs

I thought Tom was pregnant.
SWMBO would be a lot more open to moving to FL if it was winter, 15 degrees, and snowing outside, but it's summer, 90 degrees, and sunny. Damn.
In reply to Javelin: FWIW, Daytona in the summer really isn't all that bad, just don't go to far inland.
In reply to HappyAndy:
I mean the weather where we live. She likes the hot.

Im guessing that is because she doesnt work on a road crew, or as a mechanic. It's nice to look at, i guess..
Anyway, i am really happy that GRM posts these listings on the forums. There was one that i seriously considered and id like to think that there may be others in the future. So, thanks for posting here first!

Let me introduce you to my little friend Chantal! She is coming to visit this weekend>
Thanks for your comments. Fortunately Tom is too busy working on the Model A to get anyone pregnant. His girl friend was helping him with it last night and they got it running.
We would certainly like to hire from within the family, if we can, and try to post this stuff here first.
Honest, yes.
Serious, take the 5th.
Hard working, depends on the severity of the hangover.
Drink Kool Aid, definitely (just gotta cut it with moonshine).
Want to make money, check.
Move to Florida, nope, sorry. Next move I'm headed for the mountains.
Soooooooo, would this have to be a 5x8/40 hr in-house work week or is there enough flexibility in the duties that it could be handled in a 4x10 week or utilize some remote time. Also, approximately how much travel is involved?
Are you sure you aren't looking for an electrician in Michigan?

Someone had to say it.
At least my evil plan of working the jobs I need to get the experience I need to work for GRM is starting to pay off. I'm up to 4 out of 5 now! Too bad my experience is short. Maybe next time...

Anyone else think of a particular scene from Titanic here?
