I bet, if you dig deeply enough in my desk, you'll find some of those half-off Eckerd coupons. Let's just say that we had a hookup on the other side of the counter. 

It was fun pulling those photos. The newest one in there was taken March 3. I know some of the earlier ones are out of order, but let's call is sorta close. Yes, some deep, deep B-side cuts. 

And thanks again for all of the kind words. I worked with JG as a freelancer before coming here full-time, so we go back about 28 or so years. Dang, where does the time go? 

Congrats again! Like I told you on the book of faces, to stay in the same career for 30 years is impressive, for the same employer? Unheard of these days, keep up the great work!


That made me think on my "adult" employment history since I graduated college at the end of 05. Two industries, but been on this career path for 12+ but already on the 6th employer! 

I'm not sure anything puts the grassroots in GRM more than getting magazine photos developed at Eckerds with a coupon.

One of the great marketing jokes of all time was the fact that one of the high end items you could get by collecting Marlboro frequent smoker points was an inflatable raft. 

Well, that and the entirety of the McDonalds Monopoly game being a super mobbed-up scam.

McDonalds Monopoly is a mobbed-up scam?! I never knew--then again, its main appeal to me was free food: Back in college, I'd pull discarded cups and food wrappers out of the Mickey D's garbage (tip: go to one In the back to stay super classy) looking for playing pieces still attached and checking for food prizes. They give away free fries A LOT.

JG, I've been subscribed to Grassroots Motorsports since 1990 or so.  I added Classic Motorsports to most roster of subscriptions when you guys came out with that.  Love 'em both, and the mailman knows how happy he makes me when he delivers one or the other.  Thanks for your hard work.  Also, I love the Fox-body 5 liter Mustang at the top of the spread - would love to have one in that kind of condition now - there's so much great stuff available for them, and the sound of that rippin' small block Ford!
