Can you still get an Allroad? Ahh, I see. The Avant is dead. Long live the Avant. FML.

If this came with a better engine combo, I'd have a good chance of landing one in the driveway. Janel's work requires a certain amount of ground clearance - construction sites are like that. Instead, I'll probably get stuck with another damn Grand Cherokee in the driveway to replace the current one.

But I can get a Grand Cherokee with an ecodiesel.

Speaking as a BMW owner and CCA member, I'm going to tell you politely that the X6M represents everything I utterly loathe about the modern BMW corporate design policy. I despise it as a vehicle, and for all that it represents.

I agree that it's useless and stupid and serves no purpose...

And I have no good reason for wanting it.

I just do.

I heard Keith mention Grand Cherokee.... did I miss anything? All I see are lifted cars without stick axles.

.

We went into the Subaru dealer expecting to leave with one of those, but the interior was just too small for us. We bought a Forester instead and are extremely happy with our purchase.

I've got a stupid WJ Grand Cherokee in the garage now - it came with my wife. It's going to need replacing soon as I need 100% uptime on that particular vehicle and it's starting to show weird electrical issues. I'm really worried that she'll decide on another Grand Cherokee. I'd rather see a crossover in its place - ideally a previous generation Outback or (if it existed) a Crosstrek with a real drivetrain. Dropping a diesel engine into the least space-efficient "trail rated" mall cruiser ever made does not make it a desirable vehicle.

Take me outback and hang me but I like Nissan Jukes. I would drive a stick shift with the Nismo goodies. Only downside is three pedals requires a sunroof.

Also, I approve of the Golf Sportwagen.

A guy at work drives an X1. It seems like a great little wagon, and I don't mind the extra ride height or greenhouse area one bit. They even make it available with Rear wheel drive, no iDrive nonsense, and manual seats. If they had a manual trans option I'd be all over it.

OK wtf is a Golf Sportwagon? Is that what it is called in Europe/UK because here that is just a Jetta Wagon.

I'd buy a Juke, if the dealer supplied a huge brown paper bag to put it in while I was driving it (sort of like the Enterprise bag)

I think they're changing the name from Jetta Sportwagen to some other E36 M3, like golf sportwagen. It's based off the Golf platform and not the jetta platform now, and it would be fantastic if they would GTI- it or R- it

I can't figure out this new category terminology. I went to the Ford website to look at the 2014 Transit Connects, thinking about trading mine to get the better engine and transmission.

The commercial style vans are still called vans, but the wagons(more than 2 passengers)are labeled as crossovers???

I am seriously considering an X1.

It goes like this... I am replacing an E36 and our other car is a V70. I am not a SUV fan. I want a small wagon but the BMW 3 series wagon and All-Road are too pricey. The V60 doesn't do it for me because I would never consider buying the sedan version of the car. Then I started looking at hatchbacks. The Japanese hatchbacks aren't my style. I want a really nice interior. The GTI does not come with key-free entry (a must have if I am buying new, this excluded the TSX wagon BTW). If I were to settle on a sedan I think you cannot buy a better car than the Accord EX-L V6 considering the cost. However, I really want a wagon, I'll settle for a hatchback, and I don't need it to be big. I already like BMWs... so X1... a four door hatch that rides a little high but drives nice. If it wasn't lifted no one would call it a Crossover.

I've done a lot of commuting in our RAV4. I appreciate the ground clearance in the snow and when there are tree branches and roadkill on the roads. When sitting in stop and go traffic, I prefer a higher vantage point. The AWD helps in the winter, and I like the suspension and large sidewalls being able to soak up the many potholes around here.

It's not the most fun vehicle in the world, but it's a great appliance for a commute or a trip. Having 269HP, AWD, plenty of space, and averaging in the mid 20s for the time we've owned it isn't a bad deal, either. The irony is that resale on one is similar to an X3 of the same model year.

So, I guess I'd say I can see the point of a crossover, as well.

Isn't that cause you live near New Orleans? The capital of E36 M3ty roads.
