Booty-booty, yeah!

I need an outer axle seal for Fester, the F-150. It's a wierd truck. It is a 2004, so it's the first year of the new body style, because they also sold leftover 2003 F-150s as 2004s. It's got the heavy duty tow package withe the goofy 7 lug wheels and 4wd. Online info on the HD package is sparse and conflicting. The truck is reportedly an F-250 with a different body and independent front suspension.

The door tag is B5, which is a 4:10 with limited-slip. I crawled under the truck and got pictures of both tags. The pumpkin has 12 bolts.

So, what the hell rear end is this lump?

Not a clue, but it should be new enough that Ford should be able to find it in their parts machines?

Parts.ford.com lets you input a VIN.  May help?

Further reinforcing the conflicting info angst. Wiki says 4wd only came in 3:73 ratio, and my door sticker says 4:10. Its maddening.

But at least I know what rear it is now.

search for f150 7700 instead of heavy duty.

Looks like 7700 references the old 2004 F-150, not the new 2004 F-150, like I have.

See what I mean about this weird ass truck?
