Not sure where you data is coming from, but weights from Nissan are 3278 for the coupe, 3488 for the convertible.
For comparison, the Z06 does weight less at 3115 per Chevrolet specs, and of course it has about 70 more hp, but as far as an everyday car, I did choose the Z over the Corvette. Nothing wrong with the Corvette, but the Nissan is a better everyday car, and the materials are so much better its not even in the same league.
The biggest issue I had with the Z06 was the interior just felt cheap. It's where I spend the most time and for the money they were going to cost, I wasn't about to spend that much for a Cobalt-like interior. If I were looking simply for a track car, I'd probably have gone another direction, but for a real car, the Z made a better everyday choice.
