thinking about using this module for my efi swap. its originally from a 97 lumina with a 3.4 dohc.
the duster is laying 400hp at the rear wheels with a poorly tuned carb. im estimating 450 flywheel when its running right. according to the calculators, ill need a 45gph pump. does this sound right?
anyway, the pump in this module is in the mod 20s gph. not enough any way we slice it.
heres what the pump looks like. it has two pickups. one inside the module, and one that draws from the bottom of the module in the tank. this is odd to me, but probably more common than I think. ive never messed with in tank pumps, other than stock replacement.

so, can we find one? or am I just stuck going back to the drawing board?
you know youre getting pretty far out there when this board lets something like this go for more than a hour.
I must be waaaaay out there on this one.
Maybe I don't get what your asking. But your looking for a fuel pump that supplies enough for 400 (call it 450 for wiggle room) so somewhere around 40gph but the pump you want to use flows half that. What were you asking again? Any reason you can't use a walbro 255 or Bosch 044 inline like everyone else? I know either of those are good to 500 ish hp
im looking for a replacement pump for the insufficient pump. a pump that well call 45gph, but would drop into this module. one that uses both pickup points.
You probably need to cross reference that module with anything GM made during that time that actually had HP and see if one of those pumps will drop in. This pretty much means something trucky or Camaro/Corvette. At least that's how I'd start.
Ahh! I got you know, I honestly can't think of a single car with a pump like that but I have a feeling you can at least limit your searches by looking for cars over 300hp or so. Maybe gm used a similar in tank in a random year Vette or maybe truck?
Seems mazduce and I have similar ideas.
The answer you are looking for is a Walbro 455.
At 400+hp I suspect you'd be pushing your luck or spending Walbro money with anything GM factory equipped.
On my Chevy C10 project, I stuffed a Walbro 255 in the stock tank using a kit made for a '94-'95 Miata. I'll bet the same trick I used would work fine on a Duster.
