That's karma for putting a Chevy engine in a Ford.
They want something easy that is plug and play. Thats why I thought the ramjet was a good option but Trans_maro makes me have second thoughts. There are plenty of crate motors but finding one with a ready to go fuel injection system and ECU is not as easy.
Ultimate power is secondary to "easy" and everyday drive-ability.
I actually initially suggested finding a wrecked GTO etc... and swapping everything power train related over but they want new...

That's the E-Rod, a standalone 430hp Corvette LS3, everything you need except the accessory drive, mount adapter plates (~$50), and maybe an oil pan, for $7,379.99 (Jegs), with a 3 year/50k mile warranty.
Get the manual variant and it will work with the 700R4 they have in it.
That's why I threw up the Edelbrock motor. It's pretty easy to wire and will be a drop in with no tuning. All of the accessories will carry over too.
They can go with a little lower end too with the E-Street setup:

Is there anything wrong with the current engine? If not, why not go with FAST EZ-EFI self-tuning EFI or something of the nature?
The current motor is a 283 not a 327 as we initially thought. He is basically over it and wants a modern engine. It is tired and would need a rebuild in the future.
Big Block Buick......to make up for all the turbo bricks that have been swapped for chebby tree fiddys.
