You know the drill. GRM knows or can find anything. laugh

I have purchased a Tilton 600 series pedal setup for a car we are building.

I also ordered the 72-794 drive by wire adapter for the throttle pedal since that is what our tuner/engine builder/engine management prefers.

The DBW adapter is made for the Penny & Giles TPS280DP

Problem is, now that all the stuff from Tilton is here I cannot find a vendor with the sensor. Tilton says try Jegs. Jegs says nope. Googling the sensor I find "contact us for a bulk quote" type stuff.  Not one web store that I can purchase it from.

So GRM. what other unit is directly compatible?

Aprilia uses cable-to-e-throttle units on their bikes that might work for what you're doing, that's all I got.

The center part looks an aweful lot like an E30 M20 TPS....

All you really need is some sort of TPS that can be affixed to the shaft on the pedal set. Your engine management guys can adapt to whatever signal it puts out. The BMW one is popular for retrofitting to Miatas, you just need those shaft details.

Do you have dimensions of the shaft? I have access to the BMW parts, I can check for measurements.

My calipers say it is an 8mm shaft and the bolt pattern is 32.5-33 mm.

This motor is getting a Haltech ecu,  they recommend dbw and loved their experiences with the tilton unit.

By your measurements, that's the same size TPS that Jenvey uses. I have a Wabash 971-0001 in my hand that has the same dimensions. Originally for a 2000-2005 Rover 2.5L V6. Connector: AMP Jr. power timer 3-way

There's lots of sensors out there that are this size. Which direction do you need it to rotate?

from the input socket it would be counter clockwise

Perfect. The above sensor I mentioned fits your need (CCW, looking at the sensor). Anything that Jenvey specifies:

BMW 13 63 1 721 456 from E30, E36, Z3, etc etc. Easy to source.

8.0 mm shaft, CCW direction, mounting bolts are 33mm center to center.

In reply to Keith Tanner :

What size fastener? Looks like m4 or m5.

4mm from the looks of it. You've got some room to bore it out if you want to go bigger.

Good day to all.

Does anyone know where I can find a datasheet for BMW TPS mentioned?

You'll need to log in to post.
