but thanks for the demonstration lol...
Coming home last night and had to pass a left lane bandit. I moved over to the middle lane of south bound I471. In the far right lane was a newer 911 similarly just doodling along behind someone. I guess I must have got his juices going so he felt the need to come around and show me what he could do, which was to speed up to catch me and then dither in my blind spot while I tried to take the next exit. Geez, I didn't know my 24 year old, beat up old wagon had that effect on people. I laughed out loud to myself. A newer 911. Threatened by an old volvo. Too funny.
must have been your hellaflush stance and your Intercooler badge.
That was you? Sorry about that.

Ha! Any GRM staffer/reader/advertiser/whatever gets a free pass but you have to be in close proximity not in sunny Florida in order to be believable.

Hey don't criticize the folks in the left lane there. They're going to jump on 275 East and need to make sure they're in the exit lane. You know, five miles before the exit...

Okay, probably not me. I did take the 911 out today, though.
I get the same foolishness when driving my 924s.
I get the same foolishness driving my work van. Then it's not just the sports car crowd, it's everyone. Nobody thinks they should be passed by a van.
Try totting a Bobcat. People will wreck themselves to get ahead of you. I've seen it happen.

That exit off 275 to 471 does create lots of fast lane shenanigans... Still better than having to deal with 75...
There is a small portion of 911 owners who are car people and know their stuff. The rest are that guy.
'83 Grey Honda Civic. People have performed stunts to get around me that would make Ayrton Senna jealous (only to get stuck behind the person I was following).
In reply to pinchvalve:
some of us are car people AND that guy.
sounds almost as bad around here. Route 30 is the old highway from coast to coast and around here runs from Philly to AC, passing through every small town along the way. I live in one of those small towns.
If you stay in the right lane through them, you get stuck behind everyone making rights into the stores, or people pulling out without looking. So when in town, I stay in the middle lanes. There are some people who will not let a large SUV out of those lanes. I once got stuck in one for miles because the guy next to me would match my speed from 30mph up to 70 and back. I finally just stopped and he got the hint

When I'm in my 85 911 I need to show all the peasants what 207HP looks like. It's hard to contain all that power, but I try.
You know how to tell the difference between a porcupine and a Porsche right?...
It's funny I get the opposite, when I drive the 911 I've had people move out of the fast lane just because I am behind them. But when I've passed people in my DD Jeep Wrangler people lose their minds.
People seem to hate my poor little toyota pickup truck. They don't think it should be on the road, maybe something is gonna pop of of it. I don't know what to say, but "can't we all just get along." Driving smarter not faster will keep you in front of a lot of these idiots out there.

True, but this was right after the I471 Bridge, many miles from where it merges is onto I275
when i had the turbo sundance i actually pulled the turbo badges off just to get every kid in town with a fart cannon to quit revving there E36 M3 at me.

Why do people like to pull out in front of trucks that can't slow down quickly, but they never pull out in front of a sports car? Today a big dump truck pulled out of a dirt road in front of me. The road was wet, and it took everything I had not to slide into a cranberry bog. Follow him for 5 miles or so doing 30 in a 45. He pulls off onto another dirt road. Just get back up to speed.. 60ish, and some girl in an old Accord pulls out in front of me. She gets all the way up to 40, then back to 30, then up to 40, weaving all over the place. I see she is talking on her phone and making hand gestures. I get right behind her an lay on the horn. Scared her so bad she almost went off the road. She did drop her phone, so she pulled over and started searching under the seat for it as I went by letting her know shes number 1.
It's more fun when the 911 isn't actually faster than the turbo brick.

There's one, um...woman... around the corner from me who routinely takes the cigarette out of her mouth and yells "Slow Down!!" at me when I'm driving past her father's house in my 911. I'm usually doing about 28 in a 35 zone.
