Per, another VW question. There's a tube that screws onto the stock exhaust manifold on the GTI. Where does the other end go to? It wasn't used on the header that came with the car.

That's a test port. There's supposed to be a blue rubber cap on the end of it. If it's gone or broken (very common), you can take the tube off the manifold and thread in a lug bolt to block the hole.

some cars had EGRs as well.

So, it doesn't connect to anything? It has a steel P-clip that I assume bolts to the intake manifold ,or something, for support. Time for a junkyard run to find the rubber cap.Thak you both for the info.
