There's a new car review on the main page- this time we had a Honda Accord Crosstour, which draws a lot of DNA from the much-maligned Acura ZDX but manages to allow 4 adults to sit in it comfortably.
I didn't spend any time in it myself, but Alan and David did. Here's what they had to say- http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/new-cars/2011-honda-accord-crosstour/
Sorry, haven't read the review yet, but even tho I've owned several Honda products I now get the feeling that all their new "vehicles" are designed to be A.) less practical than they could be and B.) MUCH heavier than they need to be.
I realize the Pilot and Oddity cover the same segment a wagon would, but why can't Honda (re)build the old Accord wagon?
You're not actually holding up the old Accord wagon as a paragon of practicality, are you? My girlfriend's family had one when I was in high school. They had to borrow our Passat in order to haul some things...
The Accord Wagon (aka Acura TSX wagon) is better. Sportier, more fun to drive, 90% of the utility. Too bad Honda brought it over as an Acura, where it won't sell nearly as well to the crowd that Acura caters to, who all need lux-SUVs to keep up with the Jonses. If they had brought it over as a Honda, with lower-end option/engine packages (?), the Accord Wagon would be doing well I bet.
The extra 10% utility of the Crosstour doesn't even come close to making up for the fact that it's one of the stupidest looking vehicles ever made. Looks like an overweight accord had sex with a manatee. Remember, the Aztek had tons of utility.
In a world of SUVs that have utility, making a hideous, FWD one isn't gonna cut it, Honda.
oh, and diesel. Diesel Accord Wagon that looks like the TSX Wagon = me first in line to trade in the SUV.
Crosstour? I don't even know what it is and I already don't like it.
I'm actually seeing Crosstours on the streets, unlike the ZDX. This one sort of makes sense if the back seat is usable, but it would look a lot better if the front end was styled by the same person who styled the back, or at least someone who was on speaking terms with that designer.

odd, I think it's the back that looks awful.
As to the ZDX, I see them every so often. And they always say "Pohanka Acura Courtesy Loaner" on the back. ALWAYS.
Doesn't really seem like a very good loaner, haha. Then again, Subaru gave me a base/stripper forester for 2 months. In which case I would much rather have had a ZDX!
