I'm more of a 4age or 2.3 Lima engine kind of guy, but this sounds odd to me. I did a bit or research on this combination and was wondering if there would be dizzy or compression issues. Or would this just give you a stronger bottom end?

thanks, Stan

(man, Honda has a LOT of engine-speak...)

Why would you use a Y7 head? It isn't a particularly great head I don't think and it is none VTEC...

Here is a calculator to find the compression ratio though.

Not mine and just thought it was a bit odd to do that. Maybe it was one of those "well...I have this...and I have that...let's put the good parts of both together..." kind of things.

Thanks for the calculator.

I read that around 60-70% of the Civics sold in the states around that time had the Y7 in it. So that means they are easier to find if you decided you just wanted to blow up these engines left and right.

Anyhow I think issues you'd have is you'd have to run a non-vtec dizzy because the Vtec dizzy wont align with non-vtec heads. You may also have to run head studs instead of head bolts as the block/head alignment is a bit off. That may be it from what I remember.

You should check out www.d-series.org . probably best site for that info.
