Based partly on comments on this site in response to my earlier query, my daughter pulled the trigger on a 2007 Odessey van. It is an EX-L model with about 82,000 miles. Drives nice except it has a wobble/vibration on light acceleration. Dealer is pulling the typical "you bought it" after telling her she could swap for the other one she test drove. Turns out, she can trade in this van for the other and get screwed out of a few thousand $$ again.
Is anyone here famialir with these symtoms. Seems very common on the interwebs, but I had heard about it. I feel its either the torque converter or the engine management system going between 3 cyl and 6 cyl operation. I do know they have rear engine mount problems, but don't think that the issue. The van is out the dealer (honda dealer that sold it to her) right now, because she did get a 30 day/1,000 mile warranty. Bad thing is she drove it to visit her husnabned this past weekend and only has about 200 miles left. I don't think this is going to end well, because American Honda has turned into a heaping pile of E36 M3 with their customer service. They just don't care anymore.
Our 2005 Odyssey EX-L had a bad "rumbling" sound/sensation - almost like you were driving over the rumble strips on the side of the road - at lower speeds an light throttle. We assumed the transmission was failing. Turns out there was an extended warranty covering this and the solution is a PCM flash to reprogram the transmission. It drives great now.
I don't know if the 2007's are covered by the same campaign.
The 2007s have the updated transmission that is supposed to be better.
I talked with a very good independent Honda mechanic who has worked on all of you previous Hondas and it sure sounds like the TQ converter. I also called and talked to the service manager at the dealer, who I have known for years. He checked into it and said looks like it needs new drive axles, which they are replacing. Keeping my fingers crossed on this one.
Sounds like possible inboard CV's to me. The integra eats them. I'm assuming the intermediate shaft bearing is bad, but the axles are lifetime warranty from vato zone, so I just replace them once a year.

I do believe thats what the service manager said. I hope so. Daughter just emailed me she is carrying another hardtail in the oven and we don't need this crap.
Well good news. It appears the axles fixed the problem. So Kudos to Vic Bailey Honda in Spartanburg, SC.
We had a passenger side axle go on our '05 (different transmission) at around 50K. I was pretty surprised to see a failure like that with so little mileage, but they are out there...
