That's awesome. I had no idea it was so simple and it's about time for me to start back in on the '81 Scirocco.
Hey, perfect timing! This stuff works great on model cars, too!

I've been saying that for years!
Great tip! Where do you buy the chrome marker pen?
Here's the link to the manufacturer, and I see them for sale from various suppliers: Amazon, Etsy, Blick, etc. Yeah, cool product.
Awesome. I am going to order some of this to try. I love restoration ideas as I am constantly restoring something. Thanks for posting.

Yep.. Since I am stuck at home there is plenty of time to do internet searches. Most art stores carry this as does Hobby Lobby. Shouldn't be a problem picking it up locally except that everything is closed.
Yeah, where was this technology when building models in the basement?
Another option is aluminum tape and an Xacto knife. That's how we refurbished the grille chrome on the Challenge AMC for 2017.
What's the lifespan on the liquid chrome when exposed to the elements? I was under the impression that this was an interior-only thing.

I asked Tim. He's not sure how long it would last in the elements as it's a new product, but he figures that, for additional protection, you could clear coat it.
