How do racing games replicate so many unique engine sounds?
Well, it starts with tracking those cars down–everything from a Morgan Three-Wheeler to a European racing truck–and then driving them in circles, recording every and all sound they make.

Bummer. That was super uninformative. I was expecting a discussion on how the recorded sounds were isolated, adjusted, mapped to throttle/engine loads etc.
I want a racing game where all the sounds are dubbed by Michael Winslow.
