Where can you find a Grand Marquis-powered vintage kit car, a Subaru 360 LMP-style racer and a Pontiac Sunbird capable of a 9-second quarter mile–all built for like $2000? The Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge presented by CRC Industries and TITAN Fuel Tanks.
Here are just a few of our favorites from the 2021 event, and visit 2000challenge.com for more information.

I wish the video was at least 5 min longer with a view of more cars.
Awesome video guys-would love to see more about the cars too.

I'm sure there's more to come.
More Challenge videos to come. Call this a sizzle reel for those who have never heard of the event before.
Love it. Would like a bit less music and more ambient noises though. Hopefully MOAR! videos are coming.
Thanks guys! Excellent video. I'm jazzed up for next year already.
Thumbnail looks excellent
I'm just stoked that White Lightning got a little photobomb opportunity :)
Thanks to all the staff and participants who made this noob feel so welcome. I loved every minute of it.
I'm just happy the nanobeavers made it.

SO all I need is a tube framed build?
In reply to EricM :
Nah, just a cheap car for the half-budget class!

See, it worked.
Great having you, and your car is just amazing. I hear there's a video in the works that dives deeper into that build....

Doesn't it? Thanks for building something cool and also eye-catching.

My NC Miata handled great - the bradley GT is essentially a crown Vic underneath. Combine CVPI power ($500) with NC Miata suspension ($800 shell with full interior, no drivetrain)... Might get into the top 10. With the right tires. We shall see in a future event ;)

The drone shots are really slick.

Sure if you want to run exhibition.

After watching a few times, I realized the reason the music is louder than the Bradley in the drifty boi slide is that the floor was touching the ground. All anyone would have heard was a toddler dragging a dustpan thru the driveway.
To answer the title according to past results I can barely make a car go 13.9 for 2k + budget exemptions on a good year.

You guys still beat your previous best, which its self was an amazing accomplishment!
In reply to Greg Smith (Forum Supporter) :
In 2017 my supercharged Miata was 2nd (tied) on the autocross with $40 worth of Ebay coil over springs and a Ford Ranger front bar. Tires were takeoff SM7s. On dynamic score it was 4th overall with a high 14 second drag pass. I firmly believe a Miata with a properly set up suspension , autocross tires and some real power would do very well, better than just top ten.

And your ET win streak is still one of the most amazing things about the Challenge.
I have the greatest admiration for anyone who owns a competition, year after year.
