Hey folks,
I have been busy building yet another oddball car. This one is possibly the slowest street legal car in the US... but it has some charm. Anyway, the goal is to get the car to go 50 miles per hour with a 212 cc Predator engine.
I have linked a video below, but before you watch it, place your best guess on how fast the car will go with the stock 6.5 HP Predator engine.

Edit- every project needs more nitrous!
Top speed 42 mph, assuming what I think I see is what I see (1st gen Insight, stock 5 speed, 6.5hp Predator.
Haha. What a fun project! I think you picked the perfect car for it. Those insights were pretty slippery. I bet it will do 40 MPH?
You guys are in the ballpark, but not quite there yet
Not going to lie, that was awesome.
Thanks for the comments!
This project is definitely unusual, but it's cheap fun. I had no idea the car would go as quick as it did with the stock 6.5 hp engine.

Interesting little project.
I'm very interested in hearing how reliable it might be as a driver, and what sort of mileage you might get.
In reply to Mr_Asa :
So far the car has been very reliable. I have put over 200 miles on it while testing in on the back roads. Unfortunately the car is not ready to drive on primary roads... yet.... its a bit slow. Anyway, as for fuel economy, I'm not really sure about that. The fuel tank is only 0.9 gallons and I seem to top it off quit a bit. I have been asked about the gas mileage a number of times now, and I guess I should look into that.

Hey they have a way to adapter old smog pumps as super chargers to these engines. Look up "smog pump supercharger predator". Only a few psi, but worth it on that small of an engine.

I would imagine that a few pounds above atmosphere pressure is all you'd want. I can't imagine that the connecting rod is that robust.
Might want to check the ring gap if you boost it.

Finally got time to watch all the vids. Love 'em.
A note on production, the spots where you're just turning a wrench and not talking, maybe speed those up so they zip by faster? They kill the momentum a lot.

88 miles per hour?
Then you're gonna see some serious E36 M3.
