Lets say a given month has 4 weekends. How many days are you attending an automotive related event?
How does your relationship status affect that?
IE are you single, have a girl/boyfriend, married, married with children?
Are you retired?
Is money or time the limiting factor?
I figure I do three days a month. One, 1-day event, and One 2-day event.
Married, with a 4 yo boy. He loves the overnight camping events, so that helps.
Not retired, and no end in sight.
Time is more limiting than money. However If I had more time available, I'm not sure my budget could handle it.
I try to do 2, but jan/feb with rallycross, ice racing, ice rallycross I may do 4 events since there is something to do every weekend.
I'm not retired (far from it)
Money and girlfriend is limiting factor, but sometimes she comes with but I dare not to drag her to a Feb rallycross...
In reply to sachilles:
From April to November I try to get in one or two shakedowns at an open track day, 4-5 race weekends and instruct at a few DE's. I end up with 20+ days a year when the car is reliable. I still instruct when it's broke so I still get out to hang with friends and borrow a ride to stay in shape so... still 10+ anyway. There was one year there somewhere around 2002 that I was up near 60 when the divorce lawyers started circling.
Retired: No
Married: 18yrs, wife has never been to the track, ever.
Children: 2 boys, they camp & crew.
Limits: Time and Money or I'd do it every day, all day. Who would go to work in between races if they didn't need to?
I'm in the 1.5/month range for the last 7 years or so, but this year is probably going to be about 0.5-0.3/month since my budget is barely on the good size of 0. Married, no kids. (wife drives)
Probably 1 a month on season. Can't get away for more, the Air Force takes 1 weekend a month and the others are tied up with other things. Married, 8 year old daughter, wife never comes to the track

I only run about 7 or 8 events (autocross) per season now. I have two girls ages 8 and 10 so they take a lot of my time.
I am fortunate that our local club runs a 7 event Nite Series on Wednesday nights. About one event per month through October. It's nice not too take away too many weekends. Plus my wife works weekends making the logistics a little harder.
I'll pick one or two larger venues to attend during the year and plan ahead around it.

About 6 weekends a year. Married for 10 years, working for the man, 3 kids under 7, wife refuses to come to the track. I also lose one weekend a month to the Air Force. I'd say guilt is the limiting factor.
One of my ChumpCar teammates is gay and goes to the track with his boyfriend. Some guys have all the luck.

I try to do 3- 1 track day and 2 autocrosses.
My wife has never been to the track, but she likes riding along at autocrosses.
Married for 7 years, 4 year old son who is infatuated with the car, the concept of driving fast, and wrenching.
Not even close to being retired, haha.
It's more time than money for me- My wife requires a pretty high alotment of 'us' time, and track days are not acceptable. It doesn't hurt that most track days are on weekdays though, so a quick vacation day from the office and it's like she doesn't even notice, or at least pretends that way.

I'm lucky to make it to one autocross a month, but I do mountain drives on the weekends plus the occasional club get-together.
Married, no children, not retired. My wife is into the whole thing, except wrenching. She autocrosses and camps out at the Mitty and Petite, so I really don't have many good excuses. That said, my time has been limited by weekend work (aka working 6-7 days a week) and money has been limited due to buying-a-house-soon-syndrome.
Once the house thing is settled and we know where we're at financially my goal is to do a full season of autocross and make it out to at least 2 track days a year.
I try to do one rallycross and two autocrosses a month when life doesn't get in the way. Married, four kids from 5-11, stay at home dad. I did take almost a decade off when the kids were babies. I was a lot to ask of my wife to have her jump into single parenting after a week of work. Kids got older and easier and now I'm back in the game. Time is still the biggest issue.

Married - She also drives at the events.
Between autox and rallyx I would say between March and Oct average at least 4 weekend days a month we are doing something car related.
For example in march.
March 2nd - crewing for friends at the Sandblast rally.
March 16 - RallyX safety steward training
March 17 - DC SCCA AutoX
March 23 - DC SCCA RallyX school/T&T
March 24 - DC SCCA RallyX event #1
If we had more money we would likely spend it on more cars.
My schedule allows me to do a lot during the week. In the Spring and Summer and Fall, it's not uncommon for me to be at Lime Rock twice a week. I'm not always participating, but I'm there.
I like the way race cars sound.
1-2 events a month between April & October.
Self imposed time & budget limited. Wife has a horse, so no push back there.
No kids, she'd be as bored at the track as I am at horse shows.
Not retired. Enjoying our $$ hobbies 'til that time comes, then we'll cut back.
Last year, I got to 5 one-day autocrosses, crewed at 3 two-day SCCA club races, raced at 6 days-worth of Chumpcar, and I'm pretty sure at least one car show. Averages out at about 1.5 days a month.
Married, no kids, two dogs. I was co-driving the autocrosses, so I was hobbled by that. I don't have a reliable autocross car, so I'll continue to be hobbled by that. I often have one or more urgent projects to complete on any given weekend, car related or otherwise. Wife sometimes mentions the expense, but she's got a horse and rides competitively, so she's not in a position to complain. Time's more of an issue than money.
Maybe about 1 a month on average between autocross and offroad TSD.
Single, far from retired, money's the limiting factor but time's not much better.
Married, three kids, work full time.
I'd say I do about 6 events a year, including Lemons, car shows, etc... so that's .5/month.
I have a Chumpcar and we are planning on 4 events this year. All events are out of town so that requires being gone Thurs night through late Sunday. We get together as a team and work on the car most Wed nights. This is at about the limit of what I can do and keep things good at home. I also have to work every other weekend so that factors in my ability to get away. As the kids are getting involved in more activities my 'me' time will likely need to be cut back further for a few years to stay involved with their interests as well. All about balance.
Retired: No
Married: 9 years, wife not involved with car stuff
Children: 3
Limits: Time
During the summer: 2-3 a month
Tracey gets the remaining time and it hasn't been an issue.
I'm hoping for around 20 total track days this year, some Sat/Sun, some only one or the other, maybe a few weekday track days thrown in.
I don't do Auto-X or Rally-X, just track days.
I think there are 12 days scheduled between March/June, won't be able to make all of them:
Retired: No
Married: 3 years, she comes out occasionally goes for a ride, sometimes enjoys some time by herself at home.
Children: Nope and no plans to.
Limits: Money. If the wife didn't demand a few good vacations a year, I could do all the days.
retired , not married , no kids , money is still something that holds me back + taking care of an elderly parent
a-x with two regions ( ~ 25 per yr)
3 - 5 two day TT's pre yr
1 - 2 PDX/track days per yr
crew for a spec racer 5 - 6 events ( 2 day weekends) per yr
