I have rules with trophies.
1. If someone wins in my ride, they keepthe first one and anymore goes to the Sponsors.
2. If I win as a driver with my own ride, then the sponsors get any trophies.

Still have mine...on rear view mirror! AND haven't opened my juice box...
I have a few - mostly ones that other drivers win in my karts. I kept one from where I found a technological advantage and used it to win a championship.
I would much rather have a gold-plated chain with little medals from each race I finish - anodized blue for first, yellow/gold for second, red for third, plain for fourth or worse.
I only keep & display ones from important events. Racing trophies stay in the shop, show wins are in my living room.
When I sold my last "show car" I sent it to its new owner with three boxes of trophies in it.
Additional question. Does the guy that brings all 80 of the trophies he's gotten with his 57 Chevy to the local cruise in/car show and has to set them all up around the car infuriate anyone else?
I never even picked up my college diploma when I graduated 12 years ago.
I never went to a graduation, nor picked up any of mine either (they mailed them to me), although I did later stick them up on my offive wall, more so I wouldn't lose them than for display purposes.
I tossed almost all of my trophies awhile ago when I moved and only kept the silver plate bowl and a small tray. Figured I had't looked at them for 20 years and wasn't likely to change that any time soon.Used the trunk they were in for other junk I haven't yet convinced myself to part with.
When I bought my house somebody had chosen to build a display case into a corner of the dining room. It has some autocross trophies, some model cars, some art, a couple autographed photos. My first year in my local SCCA chapter club I won a worker/service award that's the one I'm very proud of it lives in my toolbox at work to remind me why I like cars when some E36 M3ty Buick is leaking on me.
