How much do you think a 99 Ranger 4 cylinder manual transmission, manual doors, manual Windows, short can, regular bed with 197k miles and full maintence records is worth?
No major issues other then a cracked windshield which i'd probably fix before selling it.
What's the rust situation?

If it takes good pictures up to $2500 if its a sporty color. Non sporty color, closer to $1500. Scruffy looking even in craiglist pictures, $500 to $800.

Beige with some scratches but should photo pretty well. I had also been thinking $1500 as well.
But since it is only worth that probably not selling for a bit since apparently four doors are a lot more expensive then I thought.
I am in TX and my dad may be interested in this truck. I'd love to see the pictures.
Last May I got a 1996 Ranger 4 cylinder, manual transmission, manual doors and windows, regular cab, regular bed with 211k miles, no rust (AZ), in nearly perfect condition and full maintence records for $1600. I'll be selling it for more.
In my area, a $750 truck needs an engine or transmission.
I'd ask $2000.

Does it have AC?
Yup.
I am pretty sure I am going to be holding on to it until later this year. I was just checking to make sure this thing wasn't worth wildly more then I thought. To see if I could swing trading to a four door pickup now.
Around here a clean ranger, forget options and specs, doesn't sell under $2500. If I was closer I'd buy it.

I sold my 01 4 cyl/5spd Ranger to a neighbor for $3k about 18 months ago. That's a couple years newer, and a different engine (more powerful and fuel efficient) than yours, but it's a data point. I think it had around 185k when I sold it. It cleaned up well, but the AC did not work, the clear coat had some issues, and the fabric in the driver's seat had torn about 6 inches down the outboard seat bolster. I did have an upgraded stereo, bed cover, and K&N that might've made it a little juicier to a particular buyer. It sold in 2 days.
If that's only a $1500 truck in your part of the world, the market is really depressed. If I were selling it, I'd price it closer to $3k or 3500 and leave room to negotiate down. But markets vary.

I'd say it's 2k+ easy. 3k+ might take a while and involve a whole lot of tire kickers on the way there. Hopefully they all know how to drive stick too or you might lose some resale value on those wasted test drives that end in a low ball offer. I honestly wouldn't even list it above 3k unless you're very sure it will work, or you'll just cause yourself frustration. My .02
Tax returns are coming soon, too, so might get a boost in value selling it in late winter/early spring.
