In reply to Robbie (Forum Supporter) :

Those are both very tempting, especially the one that's already most of the way to a complete K swap.

Unfortunately the whole family is holed up in the house being sick together, so nothing happening at the moment.

Hope you're feeling better by now!

And I know it doesn't help (auction is over) but here is another example of a car you can drive immediately selling for not that much:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1974-Fiat-X-1-9-/284617964829?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0

I actually love the color combo and the engine is not original but $6600 for a green 74 in running driving condition in California.

I watched the auction end last night and almost bid on it.

Sadly, no I didn't. They're still on my list for someday, but I don't have the time, space, or money (in that order) for a project right now.

I think X1/9s are probably one of the best value classic cars now.

They are amazingly fun to drive and way more practical than anything that size should be.

I've been on a self imposed GRM exile but I just had to come post this:

The very same X1/9

Do I think they'll get 14k? No. But it does look like it was a decent car under the dirt.

Regret!

woof. They think they can make 10k on a flip and not even fix the brakes?

One wonders what someone was thinking by mounting that side view mirror there.  By the time you turn your head far enough to see through it, you might as well just look back.

Maybe the normal mounting point is so full of bondo, it can no longer be mounted there?

I was under the impression that the rust was installed at the factory in those.

The reason the mirror is that far back is the amount of structure in the proper area of the door prevents doing it with anything other that self tapping screws. Later cars have the mirror on the vent window.

apparently this "sold" on BAT for $5,450. But many potential bidders are unhappy with the seller, and it smells like there might title issues or massive CA back taxes. Lovely.
