assuming it's wired similar to stock: run it to the starter solenoid, where the power for the rest of the car comes from.
Run a decent sized wire from the battery to the engine bay. Install a distribution block so you can pull power for anything you want off the block. Don't forget to install fuses on everything. If you want to be slick, add another distribution block for switched power using a relay and signal from the ignition.
