Any knowledge of how to hook up an aftermarket tach to a GM DIS Coil system?

My son's 2000 Chevy Impala 9C1 does not have a factory tach. I have a couple of aftermarket tachs for him to choose from.

On a side note-after taking his car on vacation last week (we bought it about 2 months ago), I now know how much fun it is to drive an ex cop car.

Why not swap the cluster from an LS/SS and use a factory tach?
