Want your Miata to go faster on track? Adding downforce–and thus improving aerodynamics–is a surefire way to improve lap times.

We talk with the folks at 9 Lives Racing to see hows something like its Medium Downforce kit can reduce lap times for track-based Miatas. Presented by CRC Industries.

Hey Johnny!

9LR kit is the real deal. From a hard to drive 2:32.64 to 2:28.69 EZPZ with more time in it. Apples to apples (exact same setup, car, and tires) from a person that isn't learning the track, i.e. none of the time was from learning how to take a corner. I got it down to a 2:25.64 w/ 660s on it, but I don't like those tires as much as the rs4's

You guys rock - Down to a 2:24.02, only .5 seconds off Tomo's hot lap in my car with the exact same setup. Goal for this season is 2:22.xx that I know the car can do.
