Not sure if the current Mazda 5 mom-mobile is more of a wagon, big hatchback, or small van, but we like it.

My wife loathes minivans, so I started calling ours a microvan....

Is the Honda fit a wagon? Cause I use mine like one.

My niece (brainwashed in collage, to believe her Prius is saving the environment) refuses to drive a mini van (all vans are destroying the earth), claims the "5" is a micro van - and apparently, they are ok surprise

When I was a kid, nobody wanted to be seen in a wagon. Today, most of us would kill for a longroof.

I've loved a hopped up longroof since I was kid in the '70s. Been looked at odd a lot, but I'm not sure it was only for liking wagons! blush

I love most all wagons, but two things I can't abide are faux wood grain and roof racks. I know; I'm an outlier.

I think the Fit qualifies as a wagon since I use mine like one and also like a pickup. I'm on my second currently (17 base and 07 sport previous). Things I've hauled included bicycles, couple hundred pounds of metal scrap to the yard, bbq grill, numerous trips to Ikea, stone, mulch, bricks, furniture, contents from trips to Lowes Depot, work supplies, and numerous items off the side of the road people put out for trash.

Also have owned other semi wagons or micro vans such as 15 Nissan Versa Note, 12 Mazda 5 and 93 Escort Hatch. Even tho it was an SUV, My 13 Mazda CX-5 manual did a pretty good job acting as a faux wagon.

With that criteria, my Buick Regal was a wagon cheeky or the chevette I used like a truck. Hint: they weren't! laugh

Heck, buy the modern classification, a chevette IS a station wagon. Again, it ain't!!!

Most of my life, making a wagon into a hot rod, required not having fake wood sides. I have had a few with roof racks, but preferred them without.
But being nostalgic these days, I would rock an old wagon with either, or both!

Hatchbacks are just little wagons so I drive a Mazda3 hatch for lack of available modern wagons when shopping the local used market, but for several years I lusted after the massively rare Mazda6 wagon.  If they'd ever made a Mazdaspeed6 wagon it might be my perfect daily driver.

My wagon game is sad, and I'm getting the impression that it's unlikely to improve since the wagon would be the household appliance and I'm not sure any of the available options is capable of winning the selection process.

We're going to end up with a berking _UV of some kind, I just know it.

I need to go write what's-his-butt who was heading VW at dieselgate a nasty letter. See if that helps get it off my mind...

I suspect the difference between a hatch and a wagon has to do with 1) the slope of the rear hatch and 2) the existence of a load area that it considerably longer than it is high with all seats in the upright and locked position. The latter is important, and it's why a SUV is not a wagon and neither are small hatchbacks. Or the XJ.

Audi would like to have a word about #1, but somehow a 5000 Avant is clearly a wagon while a Mazda 626 from the same era is a five door hatch.

Is it literally the long roof? Maybe it is!

A Fit is not a wagon.

What is and what isn't a wagon? A wagon is like pornography; I know it when I see it.

My first car was a 60 Plymouth Suburban two door wagon. This color and trim level, with more rust.

I guess I imprinted early.

I will admit that a lot of folks today agree with you. But I propose that they were either born in the '80s, or think people born in the '80s are old!

My wagon game is just fine! This one has been in the fleet for 10 years, and will only get replaced if it gets crashed. That is a Chevron F.Atlantic chassis in the cargo aea....

I just saw this any history on the Chevron?
