I just heard today that my cousin Tom is headed to the Houston area to help out with the recovery. He's a captain in the Hutto TX fire department. I guess a bunch of guys from his outfit are headed down there to help.
Good luck and best wishes to all. It's a mess, and the worst isn't over yet.
And anyone local who wants to help, please don't just drive around, go to your local fire department. They're doing a great job staging help and sending people out where needed.

We've been extremely lucky. We're crossing our fingers for the next couple of days and then it will be time to help everyone pick up the pieces. The Coast Guard has been flying back and forth over the house all afternoon.
